Moving Towards Transition
This month has shown a significant increase in the grouper bite. The fish are starting to chew because the water temperature has started to decline. As we work through the month expect the red snapper to chew just as well as the red and gag grouper. They have been appearing in depths of 150’ and greater using a slow dropped dead bait chunk. The amberjack will be starting to more in closer to shore towards the end of the month with fish in the range of 40-60lbs. September tends to be a month of slow change. This month holds closer to the summer than the fall. Expect to see even more of an increase in action as we approach October and the sizzling Gulf cools even more.
With our 2006 32 foot Sabalo the run to these fish 50 miles offshore is a breeze. The weather is calm and the seas are flat. Our boat rides comfortably with plenty of open shaded seating for six anglers. No matter how far offshore, we can take you there!
